With God We Can do All Things- Con Dios podemos hacer todo

Today I would like to share a personal experience. Yesterday marked four months serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Should have been a super happy day, right? It was but, I first had to have some de-stressing moments. My close friends can tell you I stress out a lot and about a lot of different things. The joke is sometimes that I act as a child and a mom all in one. Some worried about me going on a mission because they thought I would stress too much. And so far, things have been fine. I've been able to keep my stress under control. Until yesterday.

I began my day really just wanting to be alone but, as a missionary, you need to stay within sight and sound of your companion. So, I just tried to forget my stress. Then, church began and once again it was becoming overwhelming. I began writing my thoughts and praying that the Lord would help me overcome this so I could be the missionary I needed to be. A young girl got up to bear her testimony and talked about patience and trust in God. I felt at peace. I almost began crying because I felt that her simple testimony was an answer to prayer. The day continued and my stress level would go up and down at random moments to changes in schedule and things I had to do, etc. Then, I finally reached a peak and I knew I would snap if I didn't take care of it. I went with my companion to a different room with a piano. I just played and played and played. Let my stress enter the black and white keys as my mind began to focus. Then, I stop. I bowed my head. Clasped my hands together. and Prayed.

As I pleaded for help from God, the words of a hymn I had sung several times in Spanish came to mind: "Señor, te necesito" or, "I need thee Every Hour" [See music here]. Tears began to slip from my eyes and down my cheeks to my chin. I knew God was listening to me and was there to help me. I know God lives and that, when we have hard times, we only need to turn to Him and hold on to our faith. Hard times will come. This life is full of them but, God loves us and has provided a Savior, Jesus Christ, to help us through those hard times so we can return to live with Him again.

Hoy me gustaría compartir una experiencia personal. Ayer fue mi día de cuatro meses ser una misionera por La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los últimos días. Debía ser un día muy feliz, sí? Sí fue pero, antes necesité tener un tiempo para dejar mi estrés. Mis amigos pueden decirle que tengo mucho estrés. Un chiste es que yo soy como un niña y madre juntos. Unos tenían miedo de voy en un mision porque de mi estrés. Y hasta este momento fue bien. 

Empezaba mi día queriendo ser sólo pero como misionera, necesito ser con mi compañera todo el tiempo. Entonces, traté a olvidar mi estrés. Entonces, la iglesia empezó y otra vez sentía estrés. Escribí mis pensamientos y oré a mi Señor para ayudarme a ser la misionera que necesitaba ser. Una jovén dio su testimonio y habló sobre paciencia y confianza en Dios. Sentí paz. Casi lloré porque sentí que su testimonio fue una respuesta a mi oración. El día continuaba y mi estrés fue diferente por cada momento depende de que estaba haciendo. Entonces, mi estrés fue mucho y no pude enfocarme en otra cosa. Fui con mi compañera a un otro cuarto y empecé a tocar el piano. Toqué. Toqué. y Toqué. Mi estrés fue a las cositas negro y blanco y mi mente pudo enfocar. Entonces, dejé. Mi cabeza incliné. Di mis manos. Y oré.

Pedí ayuda de Dios y un himno entró de mi mente: "Señor, te necesito" [Puede ver música aquí]. Lloré. Sé que Dios escuchó a mi oración y fue allá para ayudarme. Sé que Dios vive y que cuando tenemos tiempos difíciles, necesitamos doblar a él y tener fé. Tiempos difíciles van a venir. Esta vida tiene muchos pero Dios nos ama y ha dado un Salvador, Jesucristo, para ayudarnos durante este tiempos para que podamos regresar a vivir con él otra vez. 

What One Step Can Do - Qué un paso pueda hacer

Even though we may not realize it, every choice we make has an impact on our life. This video portrays how one step can truly impact a person's life for good or bad. We need to continually try to follow Christ and do what we can to help others come closer to him so they do not become lost in the traps of sin.

A veces no podemos realizar pero cada decisión que tenemos tiene una influencía en nuestras vidas. Este video mira como un paso puede influir una vida por bien o mal. Necesitamos tener cuidado y tratar a seguir a Cristo y ayudar a otros para hacer lo mismo para que no estén perdidos en pecados.

Mission Sacrifices - Sacrificios de misiones

In honor of my brother waiting to find out about his own mission call, I would like to share this video I saw. It talks about a man who gave up a career to serve a mission and the impact it made in the life of others and his own. This is why I am on a mission. It is not easy but, no one ever said it would be such. Christ did so much for us that we can never fully repay him but, I can try and help others come closer to him by teaching his words and inviting people to draw unto him. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to invite others to come unto Christ and follow his example.

For behold, are we not all beggars? Do we not all depend upon the same Being, even God, for all the substance which we have, for both food and raiment, and for gold, and for silver, and for all the riches which we have of every kind? (Mosiah 4:19)

Christ has given us so much and makes it possible to return to live with God again after this life, with our families. Trust in God and continually turn to him for, "he is the life and the light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness." (Alma 38:9)

The Touch of the Master's Hand - El toque de la mano del Maestro

A poem that explains what God does with us:

'Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer

Favorite Primary Song - Mi canción favorita de primaria

My favorite primary song is "When I am Baptized." It is so simple but, it explains perfectly what I feel when I think about baptism and how I feel about my own baptism. The words are as follows:

I like to look for rainbows whenever there is rain

And ponder on the beauty of an earth made clean again.

I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain.

I want to be the best I can and live with God again.

I know when I am baptized my wrongs are washed away.

And I can be forgive and improve myself each day.

The words of the chorus are the words I wish to echo for us all: "I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain. I want to be the best I can and live with God again." This is possible through repentance and baptism if we have faith in Jesus Christ. They love us so much and want us to be able to return to live with them again. I know that to be true because I have felt the Holy Ghost testify of this truth to me.

My canción favorita de primaria es "Cuando me bautice." Es muy simple pero explica como me siento cuando yo pensaba en bautismo y como me siento de mi propio bautismo. Las palabras son:

Las palabras del coro son muy bonitas: "Tal como tierra limpia cuando acaba de llover, yo quiero comportarme bien y con mi Dios volver." Esta es posible por medio de arrepentimiento y bautismo cuando tenemos fé en Jesucristo. Ellos nos ama mucho y quieren que regresemos a ellos otra vez. Yo sé que esta es verdadera porque yo sentía el Espíritu Santo testifica esta a mi.

Men's Hearts Shall Fail Them - Desfalleciendo los hombres

This past Preparation Day, I bought a DVD of Mormon Messages and one is called, "Men's Hearts Shall Fail Them." It is Elder Russell M. Nelson talking about having peace in the world when there is not much. In the Bible, in Luke 21:26, it says about the second coming of Christ, "Mens' hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." We need to turn to Christ to find our own inner peace and to be able to keep moving forward when life is tough. There is no other way to be able to see a light at the end of the tunnel when we are surrounded by darkness. I pray we can all turn to Christ to find light.

El día de preparación pasado, compré un DVD de Mensajes Mormones y uno se llama, "Men's Hearts Shall Fail Them." Es por élder Russell M. Nelson y está hablando sobre tener paz en el mundo. En la Biblia, en Lucas 21:26, dice sobre la segunda venida de Cristo, "desfalleciendo los hombres a causa del temor y de la expectación de las cosas que sobrevendrán en la tierra, porque los poderes de los cielos serán sacudidos." General Conference - Conferencia General

The 183rd Semiannual General Conference of the Church, to which all members are invited, will convene in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6, 2013, with general sessions each day at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm mountain daylight time. The general priesthood meeting will be held in the Conference Center on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 6:00 pm MDT.

Conference is a great time where we are able to listen to the words of a latter-day prophet! (Like those in the Bible: Moses, Abraham, Noah, etc) We are able to be uplifted and find answers to questions we have through personal revelation. I'd like to invite all of you to listen in on that weekend to listen to the prophet and his apostles and other leaders of the church. Find out more at:
